This inspiring musical portrays the traditional Nativity and can be performed as a choral work or scripted drama. Seven scenes, linked by a sung narration, include The Annunciation, Journey, Stable, Birth, Shepherds, Wise Men and Celebration. A rich variety of songs and dances for solos an choruses are featured in each scene. An exciting script offers parts for a flexible cast, ranging from one class to the whole school. Staging and costumes are inspired by Botticelli’s beautiful painting 'The Mystic Nativity' (National Gallery, London). A projected slide of the painting makes an very effective backdrop.
